Dr. Kurrasch obtained her BSc and PhD degrees in genetics and psychedelic pharmacology, respectively, from Purdue University and conducted postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center and the University of California – San Francisco. While an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary, she co-founded Path Therapeutics, a platform company focused on novel drug discovery for CNS disorders. In 2024, Stream Neuroscience was spun out of Path Therapeutics to advance a lead program toward the clinic. In addition to her role as CEO of Stream Neuroscience, Dr. Kurrasch is now Professor and Deputy Department Head of Medical Genetics at the University of Calgary where she has authored nearly 80 publications in prestigious journals such as Science, Cell, Dev Cell, and PNAS. Dr. Kurrasch has received the Alberta Science and Technology Foundation Women in Innovation award for her entrepreneurial achievements as well as 2024 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.

Stream Neuroscience is a privately held, preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing isoform-selective, allosteric PDE4 inhibitors for neurological disorders. Our lead candidate, SN-2000 (PDE4B-selective), demonstrates broad spectrum anti-seizure activity with pro-cognitive and psychiatric-neutral effects, alongside promising drug-like properties and DMPK. IND-enabling studies are ongoing to support clinical development. SN-2000, and our pipeline of selective PDE4 inhibitors, enable a platform approach across epilepsy, cognitive, and neuropsychiatric indications. Stream Neuroscience is securing Series A funding to advance SN-2000 into the clinic.
